Johnnie Walker Gold Label The Centenary Blend is a blended Scotch whisky with an 18 year minimum age statement, made from fifteen whiskies that are each at least eighteen years old. Clynelish, Talisker, Royal Lochnagar and Cardhu are the key malts, contributing coastal character, backbone, weight on the palate and the finish respectively. It is bottled at 40%. Sir Alexander Walker created the original in 1920 to mark a hundred years since his grandfather John Walker founded the company in 1820. It was reintroduced in 1992 from his blending notes. The nose is honeyed malt, orchard fruit and coastal salinity. The palate is creamy vanilla, honey and dried fruit with a wisp of smoke, and the finish is long, closing on sweet malt and soft oak.
