Johnnie Walker Red Label Blended Scotch Whisky (75cl, 40%)

A blended Scotch whisky from John Walker & Sons, made from around 30 malt and grain whiskies drawn from all four Scottish whisky regions. It is bottled at 40% (80 proof) in a 750ml bottle and comes in the square bottle with the slanted Red Label and the Striding Man. The blend has a smokier, more peat-forward profile than many blended Scotches. The nose is fresh, with cinnamon, pepper, vanilla, citrus zest, a clear hint of smoke and gentle malt sweetness. On the palate, sweet malt, vanilla and apple give way to cracked black pepper, wood spice and a smouldering peat note. The finish is of medium length, with wood smoke, pepper and dried fruit.
