Johnnie Walker Red Label is a no-age-statement blended Scotch whisky in a 375ml half-bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It draws on up to 35 whiskies, among them single malts from Cardhu, Caol Ila and Teaninich and grain whisky from Cameronbridge, setting lighter East Coast spirit against peatier West Coast malts. The brand created it with mixed drinks in mind, and a Scotch Highball is the classic serve.
The nose offers butter-roasted nuts and toffee, with gentle cereal sweetness, honey and faint peat smoke. The palate is round and dryish, with dried fruit, honey, light spice, vanilla and nutmeg. The finish is medium in length, with mossy peat, wet stone and black pepper.
