Johnnie Walker Red Label is a blended Scotch whisky made with grain whiskies and malts, including Caol Ila from Islay, which gives the blend its smoky backbone. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The smoke is balanced by spicy, fruit-forward malts and clean, light grain whisky. It was made with mixing in mind and is suited to a highball, a Scotch and soda or a cocktail.
The nose is fresh, with sweet grain, spicy malt, light smoke and a hint of dried fruit. The palate is lively, with spice, smoke and grain sweetness, and the finish is crisp and warming, with fading smoke.
