Johnnie Walker Select Casks Rye Cask Finish 10 Year is a blended Scotch whisky made from single malts and grain whiskies, all aged for at least ten years. After its initial maturation, the blend is finished in ex-rye whiskey casks, which add spice. It is bottled at 40% abv.
The nose is warm vanilla, honey, orchard fruit and gentle baking spice. The palate brings caramel, toffee, soft smoke, peppery rye spice and toasted oak. The finish is of medium length, with lingering spice, light sweetness and a smoky warmth.
