Johnnie Walker The Gold Route is the second release in the Explorers Club Collection, in a 1 litre bottle. The series draws on John Walker's travels to establish markets for his whiskies, and this bottling follows the Walker family's journeys through central America, over the Andes and into Latin America. It is a blend of aged Johnnie Walker whiskies, matured in old American oak casks. The nose brings fresh banana, sweet vanilla, mango and papaya. On the palate there are tropical fruits and spices, balanced by deep charred peaty notes. A drop of water brings out the subtle smokiness.
