Johnnie Walker The Spice Road is a blended Scotch whisky in a 1 litre bottle, the first release in the Explorers Club Collection. The range draws on John Walker's travels around the world to establish markets for his whiskies, and this Trade Route blend takes its cue from the colours and aromas of the markets of Asia. It is aromatic and spiced, with a smoothness that stays true to the Johnnie Walker signature. A little water is said to bring out the subtle smokiness. The nose is zesty and spicy, with fresh apple, kiwi and lime. The palate has rich, honeyed vanilla sweetness warmed by cloves and ginger, and the finish combines sherry, steeped oak and smoke reminiscent of smouldering wood.
