Journeyman 'Not a King' is an organic rye whiskey from a Michigan distiller, in a 75cl bottle at 45% ABV. It is a nod to George Washington's original rye whiskey recipe.
Rye is the main grain in the mash bill, with corn as the secondary grain.
The nose opens with honey, a keen spiciness, caraway rye bread and new saddle leather. The palate is creamy and buttery, with stone fruit, orange peel, apricot and a maple sweetness. The finish is long and sweet, with a subtle smokiness.
