Jura – 15 Year Old Sherry Cask (70cl, 42.8%)

This is a 15 year old single malt from Jura, bottled at 42.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The spirit comes from the distillery's exceptionally tall stills. It was first matured in American white oak that previously held bourbon, then given a full finish in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, which add sweetness and richness. The nose opens with ripe stone fruit, namely plum, apricot and white peach, followed by fig, lemon balm, honeyed cereal and dark chocolate. The palate is well textured, with salted toffee, roasted pineapple, sultana and a touch of forest fruit. The finish brings aromatic citrus, ripe plum, dark chocolate and warming spice.
