This is a single cask Jura, 16 years old, selected for the Scotch Drinkers Only range. It was matured in an ex-bourbon barrel and bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, giving an outturn of 124 bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
Jura is seldom bottled at full natural cask strength, and this cask was left unreduced, with orchard fruit, creamy vanilla, honeyed malt and gentle coastal character.
The nose is vanilla bean, wildflower honey, ripe pear, baked apple and lemon zest. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with crème brûlée, butterscotch and toasted almonds. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla cream, honey, citrus peel and toasted oak.
