This is an 18 year old Island single malt Scotch whisky from the Isle of Jura, bottled at 44% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made from malted barley in tall copper pot stills with a narrowed shape above the kettle.
The whisky matures first in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then is finished in red wine barriques from Premier Grand Cru Classé estates in Bordeaux.
The nose is sweet toffee with tropical fruit and cinnamon. The palate offers cooked raspberries and strawberries, caramel, crème anglaise and black forest fruit, with cocoa and chocolate. The finish is long, with dark chocolate, espresso and a light touch of char.
