Jura – American Rye Cask 14 Year Old (75cl, 40%)

This is a 14-year-old single malt from the Isle of Jura, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. It is unpeated. The whisky was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and in hand-selected American rye whisky barrels. The rye casks add a herbal, floral spice to the honeyed softness of the distillery's house style. The distillery's notes give fresh citrus and vanilla on the nose with herbal, floral aromas of mango, mint and crushed almonds. The palate brings toffee-apple richness and pecan pie with cinnamon, vanilla, honey, cacao and hazelnut. The finish is warm and nutty, with toffee, maple syrup, guava and soft wood spices.
