Kaiyo Cask Strength Japanese Mizunara Oak Whisky (75cl, 53%)

Kaiyo Cask Strength is a Japanese blended malt bottled undiluted at 53% in a 750ml bottle, and it is not chill-filtered. The base is a blend of 100% malted barley whiskies from Japanese distilleries. It is matured in handmade Japanese mizunara oak casks, made by the Ariake cooperage in Kyoto. After years maturing on land, the casks spend up to three months at sea on a voyage from Osaka. The nose is sandalwood and coconut over spice. The palate is smooth, with fruit, silky malt and dark chocolate, and the finish is long and layered.
