Kaiyo The Peated Mizunara Oak Aged is a Japanese whisky in a 750ml bottle at 46% ABV. It is double distilled, peated to 35ppm and non-chill-filtered.
It is matured twice, first in Madeira casks and then in Mizunara oak casks, which go on a sea voyage while the ageing continues. The casks are handmade to bespoke designs from slow-growth, air-seasoned wood.
The nose is smoky, with fresh cherry blossom, ripe fruit and honey, and the finish is sweet, long and drying.
