Kaiyo The Peated is a Japanese whisky made from 100% malted barley, distilled and matured entirely in Japan and bottled at 46% ABV.
It is peated to 35 PPM and aged in a combination of ex-Madeira wine casks and Japanese Mizunara oak.
The Mizunara is associated with sandalwood and spice notes, while the Madeira casks add honey, orchard fruit and a hint of barbecue, with gentle smoke from the peat.
