Kaiyo The Ramu Wood Library Series 8 Year Old (70cl)

Kaiyo The Ramu is an 8 year old Japanese whisky from the Wood Library Series, in a 70cl bottle. It combines mizunara maturation with a rum cask finish, and the two work together to give a broader range of flavours than might be expected. The nose brings vanilla frosting, light caramel, incense, aromatic spices, flaked almond, citrus peel oils and hints of tropical fruit. On the palate come sweet melon, honey, lemon juice, grapefruit peel, vanilla, rum-raisin ice cream and plenty of spice, followed by honeyed mizunara, vanilla custard, candied orange, buttery fudge and lemon shortbread.
