Kaiyo The Sheri Japanese Mizunara Oak Finish Whisky Third Edition (75cl, 46%)

Kaiyo The Sheri is a Japanese malt whisky made from 100% malted barley, bottled unchillfiltered at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. This Third Edition is a limited release, which the house describes as its richest whisky to date. It is Kaiyo's sherry-cask expression, matured in Oloroso sherry casks, Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks. It then spends a final maturation at sea, leaving Osaka for up to three months. The nose is strawberry, sherry, fig, prune and nuts. The palate is smooth and luscious with berries, sandalwood, dark chocolate and leather, and the finish carries sherry, fig and spice.
