Kamet is an Indian single malt from the makers of Jin Jiji, in a 70cl bottle. It is named after the third highest peak of the Himalaya, and the Indian parrot is its emblem.
The barley is grown at the foot of the Himalaya. The whisky is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-French wine and ex-sherry casks, the sherry being Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso.
The nose is fruity with spice, vanilla, caramel, raisin and hazelnut. The palate is lively and spicy, with vanilla, dried fruit and dark chocolate, leading to a long hazelnut finish.
