Kamiki Intense Wood is a Japanese blended malt whisky from Yoshino Spirits in Nara, bottled at 48% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It combines Japanese malts with selected malts from around the world. These have a first maturation of at least three years in oak, followed by a longer second maturation than Kamiki Original in non-charred Yoshino Sugi, or Japanese cedar, casks.
It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is sandalwood and incense, clearly cedar, with spicy tobacco, chili pepper, ripe pear and cinnamon behind. The finish brings a green-tea note.
