Kamiki Japanese Malt Whisky (75cl, 48%)

Kamiki is a Japanese blended malt whisky in a 75cl bottle at 48% ABV, bottled non-chill-filtered. Japanese malts are blended with malts from elsewhere in the world. The blend rests first in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, then finishes for up to three months in non-charred Japanese cedar (Yoshino Sugi) casks, a first for whisky. The name comes from Kami-iki, the 'breath of God' said to drift through the Omiwa Shinto shrine. The nose brings sandalwood, heather honey, cedar and vanilla. The palate is silky, with toasted caramel, Japanese plum and white pepper, and the long, clean finish carries green tea and cool cedar.
