Kamiki Sakura Japanese Whisky (48%)

Kamiki Sakura is a Japanese blended malt from Yoshino Spirits Co. in Nara, bottled at 48%. It combines Japanese malts with selected malts from around the world. It is a triple-cask whisky: matured first in oak, then in Yoshino-sugi (Japanese cedar) casks, and finally finished in casks made from sakura, the Japanese cherry blossom tree. It was the first whisky finished in sakura wood, launched in 2020. The nose is ripe banana, candied chestnuts, cinnamon and hints of pine. The palate brings woodiness, sandalwood and gentle spice, with sweet cherries cutting through. The finish is floral and spring-like.
