Kamiki Sakura Wood (75cl, 48%)

Kamiki Sakura Wood is a Japanese blended malt, a variation on Kamiki Original. The whisky rests first in Japanese cedar casks and is then finished in Japanese sakura wood barrels. This two-stage finish brings the character of both woods, with a warm, distinctive woodiness that recalls the forests of Nara. The nose offers cherry candy with ripe banana, chestnuts and cinnamon. On the palate come wood, sandalwood and gentle spice before sweet sakura notes. The finish is peppery cherry with a salty edge, leading to a floral, spring-like close.
