Kanosuke Hioki Pot Still Single Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl)

This is a single malt Japanese whisky from Kanosuke, in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled in stainless steel pot stills at Hioki Distillery, the sister distillery to Kanosuke, which has operated since 1883 and received its licence to distil grain whisky in 2020. The approach is inspired by Irish whiskey production and shaped by a long history of traditional shochu distillation. The nose combines freshly hewn wood, stone fruit and citrus. The palate is well balanced, with vanilla, orange marmalade and almond, leading to a lingering spicy-sweet finish that recalls candied ginger.
