A 38 year old Karuizawa single malt bottled by Elixir Distillers for its Geisha series, under the name Pearl Geisha. It comes from a single sherry cask and was filled into 172 bottles at a natural cask strength of 62.1% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The label was designed by Raj Chavda.
Karuizawa distillery was built in 1955 at the foot of Mount Asama in Nagano. It closed in 2000 and was later demolished.
The notes are of dried fruit, dark chocolate, cinnamon, sultana, oak and black pepper, in a full, dense body.
