A Japanese single malt from Karuizawa, Noh Whisky Multi-Vintages #1 is a vatting of whisky distilled in 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984. It combines sherry butt and bourbon cask whisky, was bottled in October 2011 by Number One Drinks Company at 59.1%, and comes in a 70cl bottle.
In the glass it is coppery amber. The nose shows exotic fruit jams, rare hardwoods, aged tea and a heady rancio, with touches of rose syrup and sultana. The palate is big, spicy and powerful, with coconut, rosewater, lychee, five spice and dried exotic fruits, plus some earthiness and peppery peat smoke. The finish is long, with incense, spice, sandalwood and herbal peat smoke.
