Kavalan Ex-Sherry Oak is a Taiwanese single malt whisky, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made at the Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County.
The whisky is matured fully in Oloroso sherry casks rather than given a shorter sherry finish.
The nose is dark raisins and stewed plum, with fig, cocoa and roasted nuts. The palate is bold and velvety, with dried fruit, toffee, baking spices and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warming, with nutmeg, leather and a gentle tannic grip.
