Kavalan Oloroso Sherry Oak is a Taiwanese single malt from the Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. It carries no age statement.
The whisky is double-distilled in copper stills and matured entirely in Spanish Oloroso sherry oak casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no artificial colouring.
Tasting notes describe dark chocolate and espresso over raisin, fig and toasted walnut, with cinnamon and orange peel. It is full-bodied, and the finish is long, drying and driven by cocoa.
