Kavalan Solist Amontillado Cask is a Taiwanese single malt in a 70cl bottle, part of the distillery's Solist Series. It is drawn from a single Amontillado sherry cask and bottled at natural cask strength, 55% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The nose is layered, with dried figs, old wood, toasted hazelnuts and dusty spice, plus a subtle oxidative note. The palate is dry, with leather, roasted almonds, burnt caramel and mineral oak, followed by black tea, dried apricot and tobacco leaf. The finish is long and dry, saline, spicy and earthy, with a hint of aged balsamic and toasted oak.
