Kavalan – Solist Ex-Bourbon Single Barrel (70cl)

Kavalan Solist Ex-Bourbon is a single malt from Yilan, Taiwan, in a 70cl bottle. Each bottle is drawn from one barrel and numbered. The whisky is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and bottled at cask strength, without dilution or chill filtration. Strength varies from barrel to barrel, at roughly 57 to 59% ABV. The warm, subtropical climate of Yilan speeds up maturation. The nose is of vanilla pod, coconut, toasted oak and ripe banana. The palate is full and silky, with white chocolate, honeycomb, citrus zest and buttery pastry. The finish is long, with vanilla, oak spice and fruit sweetness.
