This is Kavalan Solist Madeira, the Merry Christmas Edition, a single cask Taiwanese whisky distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2024. It is bottled at a cask strength of 57.8% in a 70cl bottle, with 202 bottles from the cask.
The nose offers fresh cherry, grape, apple, honey and cinnamon, with creamy toffee, almond and vanilla. On the palate come melon, apricot, fig, jam, grape, white pepper and cinnamon, with sweet toffee and honey. The finish is long and rich, balancing sweetness and spice.
