Kavalan – Solist Vinho Barrique 2016 Single Cask (70cl, 56.3%)

Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique is a single cask whisky from Taiwan, bottled at a cask strength of 56.3% in a 70cl bottle. This cask gave 197 bottles. The whisky matures in wine casks, using both red and white wine barriques. After their time holding wine, the casks are scraped and carefully toasted to open up the fruit, then filled with Kavalan spirit. The colour is deep autumn gold. The nose combines vanilla and caramelised sugar with dark chocolate, ripe melon, mango and kiwi, with delicate citrus and a background of pepper. The palate is rounded, clear and complex.
