Kentucky Owl Batch 13 is a limited-release Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 56.8% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is the final blend created by John Rhea, a Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee, before he retired as the brand's Master Blender.
The batch was assembled from five barrels, mainly eight- and nine-year-old bourbon, using a mashbill split of 86% high-rye and 14% wheated bourbon.
The nose offers caramel, corn sweetness, cherry candy and hot cinnamon. The palate is thick and caramel-rich, with dark chocolate, roasted coffee and candied orange peel. The finish is long, with baking spice, barrel char and chocolate fudge.
