This is a limited edition of Kentucky Owl Straight Rye Whiskey made to celebrate Mardi Gras and the pride of Louisiana. The rye is aged for 11 years, then spends a further year in Bayou XO casks.
The nose is toasted rye bread with sweet butter, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. On the palate, sweet butter and allspice arrive straight away, and the sweetness of the Bayou XO cask mingles with the rye and spice. The finish is smooth, with buttery sweetness and allspice giving way to a long nutmeg note.
