Kentucky Owl St. Patrick's Edition is a straight bourbon bottled at 50% ABV in a 75cl bottle, released in February 2022. It is a collaboration between Kentucky Owl master blender John Rhea and Louise McGuane, founder of J.J. Corry Irish Whiskey.
McGuane applied the Irish bonding tradition, tasting individual casks blind and building the blend from them. It combines Kentucky straight bourbons aged 4 to 11 years: wheated, higher-rye and older stocks in a four-grain blend. The emptied barrels were shipped to Ireland.
Tasting notes give caramel, honey and gentle baking spice on the nose, and butterscotch, chocolate orange and forest fruit on the palate. The finish is medium-long, with black pepper, toasted oak and vanilla pod.
