Kentucky Owl St. Patrick's Edition Straight Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

Kentucky Owl St. Patrick's Edition is a straight bourbon created with Louise McGuane, an Irish whiskey bonder who sources her own barrels and ages them in her own warehouse. The idea began when she was in Kentucky looking for ex-bourbon barrels and approached Kentucky Owl about a marriage of the whiskies those casks had held. Around 40% of the blend is 4.5 year old wheated bourbon from Bardstown Bourbon Company. The rest draws on Heaven Hill, which supplies the oldest component, along with Peerless, other Kentucky Owl stocks and Bardstown's rye-mashbill bourbon. It is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 75cl bottle. The palate shows mid-palate richness, rounded fruit and plenty of spice, and the finish is rich, supple and smooth.
