Kentucky Owl Batch 12 is a limited release of Kentucky straight bourbon, composed by Master Blender John Rhea and bottled at 57.9%. It blends straight bourbons aged 7 to 14 years with two different 4-year-old bourbons.
Each Kentucky Owl batch is a one-off blend that is not repeated. The brand dates to 1879, when Charles Mortimer Dedman founded his distillery on the Kentucky River, and it returned with Batch 1 in 2014.
The nose offers sweet spice, caramel and butterscotch. On the palate, warm spice and caramel with cream give way to passion fruit and spicy citrus. The finish is long, with caramel and cream lingering.
