Kentucky Owl Takumi Edition is a blend of Kentucky straight bourbons aged 4, 5, 6 and 13 years, bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtration. About 25,000 bottles were released in October 2022.
It is a collaboration between Kentucky Owl master blender John Rhea and Yusuke Yahisa, master blender at Nagahama Distillery in Japan. The blend was assembled in Japan, and the name Takumi means master artisan.
The nose is caramel, oak and dark cherry. The palate is full and layered, with vanilla, baking spice, toasted nuts and mature oak, and the finish is long and warming with spice.
