Kentucky Owl Takumi Edition is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, blended in collaboration with Japan's Nagahama Distillery. Takumi means 'master craftsman' in Japanese.
Four hand-selected Kentucky straight bourbons, aged between 4 and 13 years, were sent to Japan, where Yusuke Yahisa of Nagahama Distillery assembled them as he would approach a Japanese whisky. There was no Mizunara cask finish and no Japanese grain in the mash. Kentucky Owl Master Blender John Rhea supplied the bourbons.
The release was made in a run of 25,000 bottles and is generally described as balanced.
