Kentucky Peerless High Rye is a barrel-proof Kentucky straight bourbon at around 55% ABV, varying by batch, in a 750ml bottle. It uses the distillery's first new mash bill since its 2019 debut: a high-rye recipe with roughly two to three times the rye of the standard bourbon, released in 2023.
It is sweet-mash fermented, never chill-filtered and bottled with no water added, after at least four years in oak. Distilling, ageing and bottling all take place in Louisville.
The nose is warm oak, leather, citrus and dark fruit. The palate is rich and syrupy, with candied oak, charred orange, spicy rye and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warming, with leather, tobacco and spice.
