Kikori Japanese Whiskey (75cl, 41%)

Kikori is a Japanese whiskey made entirely from rice, distilled in Kumamoto and bottled at 41% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled once in a stainless steel still, from polished, locally grown rice. The spirit matures for a minimum of three years in three types of cask: American oak, which makes up roughly 80%, French Limousin oak at about 10%, and sherry casks. The nose is floral, with sweet pea flowers, sandalwood, fresh-cut grass, light caramel and tree fruit. The palate shows melon, lychee, toasted almonds, orange blossom, green apple and edamame. The finish is medium in length and clean, with vanilla, soft oak and a faint sherry sweetness.
