The twelfth edition of Kilchoman's 100% Islay series, a single malt peated to 20 ppm. A total of 12,500 bottles were filled.
The whisky matured for at least eight years in a combination of 29 bourbon barrels and 6 Oloroso sherry butts.
The nose is elegant, with sweet peat smoke followed by waves of citrus and honey. On the palate there are intense malt notes and green fruit, apple and pear, with gentle spices, raisins and toffee emerging slowly. The peat smoke returns in the finish, which is oily and creamy, balanced by toffee and caramelised sugar.
