Kilchoman – 100% Islay 14th Edition

This is the 14th edition of Kilchoman's 100% Islay series, released in 2024. In this series the barley is grown on Rockside Farm, malted on the distillery floor, then distilled, matured and bottled on the island. This edition combines first-fill bourbon barrels with a share of oloroso sherry casks, and the peat is light. The nose is citrus, green apple and floral notes, with soft smoke, then vanilla, honey and dried fruit. On the palate there is malty sweetness, lemon peel, pear and pineapple, with crème brûlée, coconut, dried figs and raisins. The finish is long, moving from malty sweetness to gentle peat smoke and a little spice.
