Kilchoman 100% Islay 15th Edition is a single malt from Islay, distilled from barley harvested in 2014 and 2015. It is sold in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured for a minimum of 9 years in 54 ex-bourbon barrels. That time in bourbon wood adds caramel, vanilla and butterscotch, set against the citrus sweetness and peat smoke of the spirit.
The nose combines vanilla, tropical fruit, fresh hay and toasted oak, with grassy notes and salted butter. On the palate come milk chocolate, salted caramel and fresh peat smoke, with candied citrus, lemon, ripe pear and a little white pepper. The finish is long, with maritime peat smoke, fresh fruit and honeyed sweetness.
