This is the Kilchoman 10th Anniversary Release, a single malt from the Kilchoman distillery on Islay, bottled at 58.2% in a 70cl bottle. It marks ten years of the distillery.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon and sherry casks and draws on distillations from 2005 to 2012. The release was limited to 3,000 bottles.
The nose is bright citrus, dried apricot, ripe red berries and cinnamon, with a hint of mint and warm oak. The palate offers honeyed malt, roasted nuts, dark chocolate and sea salt over a creamy mouthfeel. The finish is long, with toasted oak, sweet caramel and gentle warmth.
