This is a 12 year old single cask Islay single malt from Kilchoman, bottled exclusively for ImpEx Beverages as part of their Cask Evolution series.
The whisky matured in a Bourbon barrel previously used by Buffalo Trace distillery in Kentucky. Twelve years in Kilchoman's Islay warehouses added vanilla and caramelised sugar, which sit alongside the citrus sweetness and peat smoke of the distillery.
The nose is citrus, biscuit dough, honey and fresh vanilla. On the palate come light peat smoke, fresh herbs and tropical fruit, and the finish is long, with malt, lemon, fresh baking and wafts of smoke.
