Kilchoman – 16 Year Old - Sherry Single Cask #334/2006 - The Distillery Shop is a single malt whisky from Kilchoman (Islay). Aged 16 years, bottled at 54.8% ABV, 70cl. Established in 2005, Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland. Based on a farm on the rugged west coast of Islay, Kilchoman was the first distillery to be built on the island for 125 years. Kilchoman displays all that is great about the grass-roots traditions of Scotch whisky distilling and truly is Islay's farm distillery - from barley to bottle. On 1 June, the Kilchoman Open Day of Fèis Ìle 2023, Kilchoman released another Distillery Exclusive Release as a “surprise bottle” with a 16-year-old Oloroso Sherry cask bottling. After the first two 16-year-old Kilchoman releases of the previous year, which were matured in bourbon barrels, Kilchoman has now bottled one of the last remaining sherry casks from 2006. The yield was 602 bottles with an alcohol content of 54.8%.
