Kilchoman 2009 Autumn Release is an Islay single malt bottled in 2009 at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It spent three years in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by about two and a half months in Oloroso sherry butts. The colour is a rich medium straw.
The nose has citrus zest, dried apricot and red berries, with cinnamon, clove, charred oak and a little vanilla. Rich peat smoke leads the palate, alongside dark plum, marmalade and creamy toffee in an oily texture. The finish is long and smoky, with spiced chocolate.
