This is a 14 year old Islay single malt from Kilchoman, released in the distillery's 20th Anniversary Cask Series to mark two decades of production. Kilchoman is one of Scotland's few remaining farm distilleries.
The whisky was matured entirely in ex-sherry butts.
On the nose, expect raisins, figs and Christmas cake. The palate brings stewed fruits, toasted oak, warming spices and a little coastal brine, with gentle peat smoke running through. The finish is long and warming, with lingering sherry sweetness and delicate smoke.
