Kilchoman Machir Bay is an Islay single malt in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 46% and both non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. It has been the distillery's flagship since 2012.
The vatting is led by first-fill bourbon barrels, with a smaller share of Oloroso sherry casks, and the barley is peated to 50 ppm. The name comes from a beach on Islay's west coast, a short walk from the distillery at Rockside Farm.
The notes describe lemon zest, vanilla and coastal air on the nose, then tropical fruit, sultanas and honey on the palate, and a long finish of cracked pepper and sea salt.
