Machir Bay is a peated single malt from Kilchoman, the Islay distillery where every stage from barley to bottle takes place on one site. It is bottled at 46%.
Kilchoman is a young distillery, yet rustic and traditional in character, in the heart of the island. The nose brings lemon peel, vanilla and a clear coastal influence, giving way to floral intensity, juicy peaches, pears and a hint of rich spice. The palate has bursts of tropical fruit and dried sultanas, warming smoke, honey, malt and caramel. The finish is long, with sherry-soaked fruit, black pepper, sea salt, citrus sweetness and maritime peat smoke.
